Today's Shopping Trip: Publix & CVS; And "Coupon Trained"

I wanted to quickly post my shopping trip to Publix and CVS today. With kids home full time for summer right now, and I know I've mentioned this once or twice, but I am struggling to keep up with my stock pile a bit. Not that we are running low by any means, but we are going through it and I haven't done a great job keeping it stocked to where it should be.

I am happy to say that I have my family "Coupon Trained" (just made that one up ;). Today, as I was heading out for my shopping excursion, I asked if there was anything anyone needed. I received the usual rounds of "No", and then was asked if I coupons for Toilet Paper or Paper Towels. And was told that we were running 'low' on these items, which is true. Now - what I want you to keep in mind is that we have four 12 packs of T.P. and two 12 packs of paper towels & and couple of 2 packs of paper towels. I kind of giggled when I heard this because by anyone outside of couponing would have thought saying "we are running low" on these items with that much left, that we were crazy. Usually I have about twice that amount in the house, so it is a bit diminished at the moment. But - it made me smile that even the rest of my household's perspective has significantly changed. :)

Have said all that, here's a VERY quick overview of how much I spent and saved today at Publix & CVS. I will post a full length of everything I bought and how.

I had quite a few Need Items this week on my list, thankfully everything I bought was at the very least on sale- WHEW! But I didn't have coupons for everything either so I spent a bit more than I normally would have but not by a whole lot.
